Here in the U.S. Mother’s Day is just days away. The celebration of Mother’s Day actually began here in the United States in the early twentieth century. It was first celebrated in 1908, when social activist Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. She then began a campaign to make “Mother’s Day” a recognized holiday in the United States, and she became successful in 1914. Other countries began adopting the holiday, but most changed the date to fit already existing celebrations honoring motherhood, such as Mothering Sunday in England and International Women’s Day in Russia.

No matter when you celebrate, we’ve put together vegan Mother’s Day menu with recipes from Nut Butter Universe by Robin Robertson for you. These recipes will be sure to please all of the guests at your celebration, no matter what their dietary preference.
